Why Her Mind Matters Was Created
Only 1 in 8 teenage girls feels truly happy with their lives.
Too many girls are carrying their mental health alone, not because they don't want help, but because no one has made it feel safe to ask for it. Her Mind Matters exists to change that. Through research, storytelling, and practical tools, we're building a world where girls feel understood, parents know how to listen, and mental health is something we talk about openly, not in whispers.
Our Approaches
We believe change begins when girls feel safe enough to speak and supported enough to heal. Her Mind Matters combines research, storytelling, and community to turn awareness into action.
Create a Safe Space
Through anonymous surveys, social content, and parent-teen conversation guides, Her Mind Matters gives girls room to be honest, without the fear of being judged or dismissed.
Raise Awareness
Through powerful narratives, proven research, and practical resources, we create spaces where girls feel heard, supported, and confident to share their voices.
Provide Solutions
We don't just raise awareness - we build solutions that help parents listen better, friends support better, and girls heal faster.
Our Work
Her Mind Matters Founder, Hallie Zilberman, speaks to a group of 6th-grade students on mental health through the lens of kindness, both to themselves and others. She teaches them about ways to communicate their needs to friends and techniques to set healthy boundaries.

Understanding Teen Girls’ Mental Health
A Parent Conversation
Hallie speaks to a group of community parents about ways to stay aware, connected, and proactive with their daughters surrounding mental health. She taught them ways to foster healthy household environments and initiate conversations that girls actually want to have.
Meet Hallie
“A number of my close friends have told me about their mental health, and it made me realize that a lot of girls have hidden problems that nobody knows about.”
Hallie Zilberman is a teenager growing up in western Colorado. After discovering the relevance of mental health and the need for awareness, she has dedicated her free time to making a difference in the world of mental health. While founding Her Mind Matters, Hallie dove into psychology and neuroscience courses – and she stays eager to make an impact. Due to Hallie’s understanding that a large portion of her female peers struggled with their mental health, she launched a survey sent to 1,000 teenage girls across America to address the topic. The survey presented a plethora of fascinating data and trends. Through social media posts, articles, and events, Hallie hopes to inspire, inform, and raise awareness among other teenage girls. She is ecstatic to continue this project and cannot wait to further her knowledge of the brain.
